About Meg Shah

I am an educator, lawyer, and parent who believes that every child deserves joyful, high-quality learning—and that families and schools thrive when they work in partnership. A graduate of Northwestern University and the American University Washington College of Law, I practiced as a trial attorney before following my lifelong passion for education in 2012. Since then, I’ve taught, coached, and served as a school leader at KIPP DC. In 2023, I launched MVS Educational Services to support families, students, and schools through tutoring, advocacy, and professional development.

My coaching and teaching style is direct, compassionate, and practical – I help families cut through the noise and I leave both students and parents with tools they can use right away. Known for blending the precision of a lawyer with the heart of an educator, I am equally comfortable breaking down assessment data, guiding parents through an IEP meeting, or sparking joy in a child who once dreaded homework.

Based in Washington, DC, I live with my husband and two young boys. You can find me at a local playground, getting stronger through hot yoga & pilates, or rooting for the Ravens. I am happiest when connecting with family, friends, and neighbors.

Advocacy & Coaching Services

Strong Parents. Stronger Advocacy. Thriving Kids.

Being a parent is hard. You’re doing your best to juggle work and family – but you’re overwhelmed by confusing or negative school communications, stressful IEP or 504 meetings, or daily homework battles at home. Sound familiar?

Through Advocacy and Coaching, I help you cut through the noise and focus on what matters most for your child. Together, we’ll tackle challenges such as making sense of testing results, navigating special education services, or creating consistent routines that support behavior and academics. With a unique blend of experience as a lawyer, educator, and parent, I provide practical strategies that bring clarity, confidence, and lasting change. Each session leaves you with actionable tools and shared language you can use with schools and at home—so your child can thrive in every setting.

Tutoring Services

Tutoring that sparks confidence and joy in learning.

If you’ve learned at a family-teacher conference that your child is struggling academically, or are frustrated with homework that you cannot explain in a way that “clicks,” you’re not alone. I can help.

Through personalized tutoring, I help students build the skills and confidence they need to thrive, while giving parents peace of mind. With over a decade of experience as a teacher, school leader, and special education advocate, I design tailored plans that focus on math, literacy, test-taking strategies, and organizational skills. Each session provides clear strategies, measurable growth, and a renewed joy in learning—making tutoring more than homework help, but a path to confidence, independence, and long-term success.

Professional Development Services

Strengthening family-school partnerships to drive student success

I partner with organizations to strengthen family and community engagement in ways that are practical, meaningful, and lasting. My professional development experience includes facilitating multi-week educator training series, developing family-facing resource guides on math, and designing early childhood parent handbooks that help school districts align on best practices. Drawing on my background as a parent, teacher, and school leader, I bring both research-based strategies and hands-on experience to every project.

My approach is collaborative, actionable, and equity-driven – ensuring educators and families leave with tools they can implement right away to strengthen the bridge between home and school.
